UF Police Department

The University Police Department provides a full range of services including investigating crimes committed in its jurisdiction, making arrests, providing crime prevention and community services programs, and enforcing laws.  UPD also has a separate Community Services Division and Office of Victim Services.

Victim Advocacy Unit

The Victim Advocacy Unit provides 24-hour on-call crisis intervention, outreach to victims of crime, emotional support to victims and their families, referrals to community services, serves as a liaison between the victim and the detective during the investigation, and provides assistance with filing injunctions and Crime Victim Compensation.

Victim Outreach

The Victim Outreach Department of the Gainesville Police Department provides immediate response and outreach for victims of domestic violence and other violent crimes, provides counseling services, accompanies and supports victims through criminal justice proceedings, assists with applications for victim compensation, provides transportations to court appearances and other appointments, assists with protective injunctions, offers community education and consultation, provides personal advocacy, and referrals.
