Including a statement to your syllabus that informs students of the university gender equity policy can help foster a culture of awareness and respect on campus.

Gender Equity Syllabus Statement
The University of Florida is committed to providing a safe, productive learning environment free of sex-based discrimination and misconduct. Sex-based discrimination, sexual misconduct (including sexual harassment, sexual assault, and any other nonconsensual behavior of a sexual nature), and relationship violence are antithetical to the university’s mission and values, violate university policies, and may also violate federal and state law.
